Council Member Fernando Cabrera Tours Susan's Place
L to R: Renee, CM Cabrera, Darlene, and ED George Nashak |
CM Cabrera has his blood pressure taken in CFH health center |
During his visit,
CM Cabrera also discussed city policies affecting homelessness, people with
extremely low incomes, and living in deep poverty. CM Cabrera and Nashak had an
in-depth conversation about misperceptions of what causes homelessness and who
makes up the homeless population in New York City. CM Cabrera and Nashak both expressed
that many New Yorkers experiencing homelessness are either working full-time or
actively seeking employment.
The CFH Policy and
Advocacy program has been meeting with CM Cabrera to help develop and support
city programs and policies to effectively fight, prevent and end homelessness.
We look forward to continuing that work with your help. Your gift today can help our policy team advocate for change in NYC that will save lives and make a difference.
